At the regularly scheduled board meeting Tuesday afternoon, the school board took time from their normal list of duties to recognize Philip Jones.
Enoch Williams from VFW was front and center for the presentation. Philip Jones was the recipient of the 2019-2020 Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award.
Jones’ efforts to go above and beyond what is expected of a teacher to ensure his students grasp what he is teaching. Before school or after school, Jones is available to assist any student needing extra help. He is an exemplary example of an extraordinary teacher.
