Patricia Sexton Howard passed peacefully on May 20th, 2023. Pat was born on February 22, 1936 in Jackson County, Florida to the late Harvey E. and Ruth R. Sexton.
She attended and graduated from Marianna High School, Chipola College and FSU. After graduating from Florida State University, she moved to Orlando to begin her teaching career where she met and married the love of her life, Charles G. Howard, Jr. She and Chuck built a wonderful, busy life together raising three kids; participating in civic and social and political groups; and, supporting their children’s dance, track, cheerleading and football activities. Pat taught elementary school for 37 years. After Chuck’s passing, Patricia retired and chose to travel extensively, setting foot on nearly every continent.
She is survived by her daughters, Kendra Viele (John); and Helaina Vernon; her son, Kenyon Howard (Patricia); her grandchildren, Connor Wilson and Elysse Vernon; her sister, Sue Schafer (Don); and, her niece and nephew and their families.
A graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Marianna, Florida, with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing, where she will be laid to rest next to Chuck.
