Patricia Mathis, 85, of Tallahassee, formerly of Malone died Sunday, February 13, 2022 in Tallahassee.
She was born April 15, 1936 in Malone, Florida to John and Myrtle Bedsole. While raising her daughters with her husband, Fauline Mathis, she pursued her career as a teacher. She received her bachelor’s in Teaching from Judson College and then her Masters from LSU. She taught math at Chipola College for 37 1/2 years, she also taught at the Baptist College of Florida. When Pat wasn’t teaching, she was participating in the Professional Business Association as President and being a sponsor of the Baptist College Ministries at Chipola.
Through all of her endeavors, she always made time to play her piano, sing and sew. Above all, her main priority was her family. She was always a loving mom and the sweetest Nana and Granny.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fauline Mathis; daughter, Jacquelyn Lincoln; parents, John and Myrtle Bedsole. Pat is survived by her daughter, Jeanine Pumphrey (Jimmy); grandsons, Jordan Lincoln, John Wayne Lincoln, John David Pumphrey; sister, Jackie Welburn and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 17, 2022 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with David Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
Visitation will begin at 9 AM, one hour prior to the funeral Thursday, February 17, 2022 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. to the service at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
