Patricia Hill Gable, 81, passed away peacefully on May 08, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born August 4, 1940, in Marianna, Florida. She graduated from Marianna High School in 1958.
After raising three children and working at Chipola Mills and then Russells until they closed, she went to Chipola College for two years, graduating in 2000 at the age of 59. She then worked at Life Management for 19 years until her retirement at age 79.
Those who were blessed to know “MawMaw”, recognized that she was a hard-working, selfless, and caring person. She was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed traveling, gospel and country music, and Western TV shows; especially Gunsmoke. She loved worshipping at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church when she was well enough to attend. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Daisy Hill; her brothers, Ernest, Earl, Durward, James, and baby, Sweet Jim Hill; her sisters, Alyne Singletary, Nadine Joyner, Annie Lou Hill, and Edith Hussey.
She is survived by her children, Vanessa Thompson, Sandra Powell, and Michael Gable (wife, Emily); her grandchildren, Tara Stafford (husband, Lance,) Tyler Thompson (wife, Kala,) Chris and Ansley Gable, her great-grandchildren, Zoella and Kinsley Thompson, and Hayes Stafford; and also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and caregivers.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church with Allan Austin and Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church.
