David Stewart Reed

David Stewart Reed passed away on June 10th, 2021 at the age of 73. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 20th, 1948 to parents Lillian Louise (Lee) Reed and Ralph (David) Reed.

In his teens, his parent’s relocated to the Florida Panhandle where David enjoyed the sun and surf. As an adult he lived in Fort Walton, Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe Beach, and Greenhead, Florida. An entrepreneurial spirit led him boldly into many business endeavors including a company he created called Colorama Designs in Port St. Joe, Florida. The company not only created beautiful souvenirs and keepsakes encapsulating the essence of the Florida Gulf Coast but it also created much needed quality jobs (many for women) in the town throughout the 1980’s and 90’s.

In later years, he worked as the “Culligan Man” and eventually for his own company Hague Quality Water providing “Water for life!”, as he often said. For work he traveled back and forth crossing Washington, Bay, Walton, Gulf, and Franklin counties putting hundreds of miles on his old white Jeep. When living his best life, he could be found standing behind a charcoal Weber deftly demonstrating the expertise of someone with decades of experience; a true Grill Master in his element. He would shuck large sacks of oysters to the delight of his daughters and their families providing delicious food and great company.

David had a decades-long love for Bobby Bowden and FSU football. He enjoyed many hours at Doak S. Cambell Stadium often with his dear friend David Brown or his kids. His home office was a shrine to the legacy of Bowden and the Seminoles. In his house, the friend’s of his kids were welcomed and treated like family. He loved animals and cared for many pets along the way. Nothing truer can be said about David Reed than he loved his children. He taught by example never to miss an opportunity to say, “I love you and I’m proud of you.” He said, “As you get older, you realize with clarity that family is everything. And that’s it, Really”.

In his final years, David battled dementia. It was this illness that would tragically rob him of time, memories, and reason. Still, thoughts of caring for his children were his most enduring. He hoped against all odds to get better so that he could be there for his youngest, Angel. He was anchored by his love for his children above all else.

He is survived by his spouse Maria, children Shannon, Leanne, Colleen, Vicki, Jeffre, Alex, and Angel, sister Patty and niece Tracy, and his best friend, David Brown.

Mary Frances “Frankie” Boyett

0

Sunday morning, July 25, 2021, heaven became the home of Mary Frances “Frankie” Boyett. In one beautiful moment, all of her faith was made sight. The body that robbed and failed her for many years became whole. Forever she will run, shout, leap and worship the Savior she loved and served faithfully all of her days.

Frankie was born on February 12, 1946 at home in Harold Florida to the parents of William Monroe Smith and Mollie M. (Mutter) Smith. On October 31, 1964 she married Jimmy Boyett. They raised 2 sons, Shawn and Will, and one daughter, Shawna.

Frankie loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved her Jesus, her husband, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with every beat of her heart. She treasured her friends and placed value on every relationship in her life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was there for everything. Gathering with family and friends was one of her favorite past times. She loved to shop, going out to eat, cooking—-and boy, was she ever good at it, working in her yard, and just working in general. There’s a million things to say about this incredible woman, but this piece of paper would never hold nor do justice to the life, love, care, help, goodness, gentleness, meekness and kindness that she bestowed upon all those she came in contact with. She was known for her kind and compassionate spirit, her nurturing demeanor, and her love for Jesus.

Frankie was preceded in death by her father, William, her mother, Mollie, her sisters, Dollie Nelson, Nancy Martin, Shirley-Ann Smith, Helen-Jean Smith, Hazel-Jean Smith, and her brother, Bo Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years – Jimmy Boyett. Three children Shawn Boyett, Shawna Faison (Tony), and William Boyett all of Vernon, Florida. Her grandchildren Samantha Ward (Seth), Liz Barnes, Lynn Barnes, Dakota Boyett, McKenzie Faison, Shane Boyett, Ridge Faison, Brooklyn Cochran, Derek Boyett, Riley Thomas, and Calum Boyett. Two great grandchildren Ellie and Emberly Ward. Her sisters Marie Register (Harlon), and Margaret Roche (Squeaky). A host of nieces and nephews who also will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 6:00pm -8:00 p.m. at Liberty Church in Vernon, Florida. Funeral Services will also be held at Liberty Church Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverends Dennis Boyett, Josh and Cody Boyett officiating.
