One arrested on accessory and mishandling human remains charges.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office issued the following press release in reference to the arrest of Thomas Jefferson Bryant.

On Wednesday, July 29, 2020 the members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office assisted the United States Marshal’s Service Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force in executing the apprehension of a fugitive wanted out of Tallahassee, FL for the charges Accessory After the Fact-1st Degree Felony and Mishandle Dead Human Remains pursuant to Florida Statutes. Thomas Jefferson Bryant, formerly of the Alford community, was located at a residence off of Magnolia Road near Iron Bridge Road where he was taken into custody without incident. Bryant’s involvement in the homicide is suspected to be posthumous, where he allegedly assisted in attempting to relocate and dismember the decedent in a malicious effort to dispose of the body. The investigation is on-going, any further details will be released by the Tallahassee Police Department.
