On October 15, 2020 Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatch to the area of Whiteville Road in reference to a suspicious vehicle parking in various locations throughout the day and near the complainant’s residence. The vehicle had left prior to the arrival of Deputies. While searching for the vehicle it appeared back in the area. Deputies were notified and contact was made with the subjects.

Deputies made contact with the occupants who were two juveniles and an adult, identified as Jose Polnitz. Polnitz was visiting with juvenile friends and had picked them up from their residence. During the incident, it was learned Polnitz had already had previous issues, which he admitted to, where he had been warned about taking the juveniles without the consent of the parental guardian and interfering with child custody.

Deputies had made contact with the parental guardian who advised she had not given permission for either of the juveniles to be off with Polnitz, nor did she allow them to leave the residence. Based upon the investigation and request from the parental guardian, Polnitz was placed under arrest and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.

Arrested: Jose Grady Polnitz, 18 years of age, Resident of Pensacola, FL
