On 9-21-20 at approximately 2:45 p.m. the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Lovewood Rd. near Cottondale. Upon arrival, the Deputy learned that Lashay Renisha Thomas had been a former resident of that residence, but had moved out and established a new residence. Thomas reportedly entered the residence using the keypad code that she knew from living there previously. While inside the residence she removed several items that belonged to the homeowner. In a post-miranda statement, Thomas admitted to entering the residence without permission and removing the items without permission. Thomas was still at the residence when the Deputy arrived and was still in possession of the items in question. She was placed under arrest and charged with burglary and petit theft.
