Ms. Uzel Lewis of Grand Ridge, Florida entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 30th at Southeast Health Medical Center in Dothan. She was 86 years of age.
A native of Jackson County, she was of the Baptist faith and a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
She leaves memories to be forever cherished by one daughter,Rachell Scott and husband Darrell; two sons, Elton Lewis Sr. and wife Geneva and Melvin Lewis Sr. and wife Virginia; god-daughter, Brenda Larabee and husband Toby; four grandchildren, Lakesha Lewis, Elton Lewis Jr., Melvin Lewis Jr. and Christopher Caleb Scott; a host of great grandchildren; three sisters, Florizell Smith, Symone Robinson and Mary Hearns; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be Friday, December 9th at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel from 3-6p.m.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, December 10th at 12 noon at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend DaRon Johnson, Reverend Hu-Man Smith and Minister Viola Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Zion Church Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
