On Thursday, July 22nd, at Jackson Hospital, Ms. Tamiko Baker, of Marianna, Florida entered peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior. The Lord whispered you are weary, come go with me and rest. At the age of 42, she took his hand and followed.
She received the gift of life on December 12, 1978 in Marianna, Florida to Ricki Baker and the late Diane Bellamy.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with Helping Others Through Christ Ministries. She was employed at McDonalds, where she met and made many friends.
Sadden by her demise, yet rejoicing in her memories are two children; daughter, Tralaysia Hicks; son, Travis Hicks, Jr. both of Cottondale, Florida; father, Ricki Baker and wife Dashanna of Statesboro, Georgia; four sisters, Latisha Copeland and husband Chris of England, Dorothy Baker of Florence, South Carolina, Stephanie Baker of Statesboro, Georgia and Jogena Murillo of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Ray Baker and wife Tacie of Sebring, Florida, Jamar Baker of Atlanta, Georgia and Ricky Brown of Bainbridge, Georgia; aunt, Brenda Bellamy of Dothan, Alabama; three uncles, Edward Bellamy of Marianna, Florida, Michael Bellamy of Middletown, Connecticut and Derick Bell of New Britian, Connecticut; great aunts, Vernell Smith and Wyoma Kirkland both of Marianna, Florida; special cousin, Sonjia Leslie of Marianna; and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A Solemn Farewell will be held Friday, July 30th at 10a.m. graveside at Bethlehem AME Church Cemetery with Rev. Tony Hannah, Rev. Lawrence Gantt and Pastor Pamela White officiating. Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
