Ms. Rosetta Elder Rhynes of Northfield, New Jersey and formerly of Marianna, entered into eternal rest on July 26th at Meadowview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Northfield.
She was 91 years old. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Bethel Star Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member, singing in the Senior Choir and served on the Pastor’s Aide Committee and Building Committee for the building of a new sanctuary at Bethel Star until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Rhynes, Sr; two daughters, Jennie R. Harold and Bobbie Jean Sims; and one son, J.C. ‘Preacher’ Rhynes, Jr.
She leaves to cherish a lifetime of love and fond memories with her children, Earnest and wife Martina, Eddie and wife Denease, Muriel and husband Robert, Nena and Clarence; one sister, Emma Peterson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Martha Elder, Eva Pearl Brown and husband Robert, Clydia M. Howard, Sylvester Rhynes, Ida McLemore and husband Macon and Carrie Rhynes; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
A public viewing will be held Friday at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel from 3-6 p.m.
A celebration of a life well lived will be held graveside Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 10a.m. at Orange Hill Cemetery with Bishop Freddie Patton officiating.
Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
