Ms. Mary Highsmith of Sneads, Florida entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 3rd at Jackson Hospital. She was 70 years of age.
A native of Jackson County, she was of the Baptist faith and a member of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the choir and on the Usher Board. She retired from Florida State Hospital where she worked as a Paralegal in the Legal Department. Mary was also a part of the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home.
Mary leaves treasured memories with two daughters, Tonia Dickens of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Dawndrell Martin of Sneads, Florida; two sisters, Earnestine Fance of West Palm Beach, Florida and Betty Perry of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Willie Highsmith of Greenwood, Florida; and a host of grands, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held Friday, June 9th from 3-6p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, June 10th at 11a.m. at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Eddie Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
