Ms. Jelean Geraldine Rogers Porter of Tallahassee and formerly of Marianna entered into eternal rest on January 11th at the Seven Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Tallahassee, Florida, at the age of 84.


She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the New St. John AME Church in Tallahassee. She was very active in service until her health failed.


She leaves a legacy of love with one daughter, Barbara Jean Rodgers of Tallahassee, Florida; three sons, SSG (R) Lewis Charles Boyd and wife Gerlinde of The Colony, Texas, Willie Rodgers and wife Dona of Tallahassee, Florida and Frank Rodgers and wife LaTonya of Smithville, Virginia; three brothers, James Rodgers of West Palm Beach, Florida, Moses Spears of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and David Spears of Chattahoochee, Florida; and a host of grands, great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.


With respect for the family and protection of everyone, please wear facial coverings while attending the services.


A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, January 22nd at 1p.m. at Williams Temple First Born Church with Evangelist Stephanie Lewis and Minister Christopher B. Felton officiating. Interment will follow in the Orange Hill Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
