Ms. Gloria Ann Smith of Marianna entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 19th at Jackson Hospital She was 62 years old.
She was a graduate of the Jackson County School system. Gloria worked as a CNA at the Alternative School for the Jackson County Health Department until she retired.
She was of the Holiness faith and a member of New Beginning Outreach Ministries. She was very faithful in her Christian walk. She served as treasurer, sang in the choir or whatever capacity needed. God fearing, she was the go-to person for advice and encouragement. She was the glue that kept the family together.
Gloria leaves precious memories with one daughter, Andreal Grant of Marianna, Florida; one son, Kendrell Smith of Atlanta, Georgia; one godchild, Stephanie Maldonado of Marianna, Florida; two sisters, Lucy Hagine of Maryland and Cynthia De La Hunt of Marianna, Florida; one brother, Allen White Jr. and wife Bianca of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Josiah Grant and Olivia De La Hunt both of Marianna, Florida; three god grandchildren, Nickalist Lang, III, Juelz Maldonado both of Marianna, Florida and Zyare Garner of Chattahoochee, Florida; three aunts, special and close confidente, Velma Mount, Ida Mae Davis and Augusta Newton all of Marianna, Florida; two uncles, Sebrin Jones and wife Shirley of Marianna, Florida and Sam Jones and wife Lenora of Pensacola, Florida; two nieces, Amber Blackmon of Maryland and Misha White of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; special friend, Jackie White of Chipley, Florida; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held Friday, August 28th, from 3-6p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home.
A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday 11a.m. at New Beginnings Outreach Ministries in Jacob City with Pastor Marvin Henderson and Evangelist Dorothy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive A.M.E. Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
