Ms. Belzie Louise Balcom of Greenwood entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 27th at Jackson Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 95 years of age.
A homemaker, she was a native of Jackson County, of the Baptist faith and a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Precious memories will be forever treasured by three daughters, Irene Pope and husband Vanester of Cottondale, Florida; Annie Balcom and Katherine Pollock and husband Jeremiah all of Greenwood, Florida; five grandchildren, Pam Williams and husband Terrance of Tallahassee, Amar Pope and wife Pam, Desmond Pope, Chandreya Gibson and husband Malcolm all of Cottondale and Lisa Pollock of Greenwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 6th from 6-8p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held graveside Friday, October 7th at 11:00a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 3996 Wintergreen Road, Greenwood with Rev. Kelvin Williams, Elder Chandreya Gibson and Elder Malcolm Gibson officiating. Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
