Mrs. Mary Nell Godwin age 78 of Cottonwood, AL (Stateline Community) passed away Thursday July 16th at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Graveside services were held 12 p.m. Saturday, July 25th at the St. John Church Cemetery located 2199 AME Road Campbellton, FL with Reverend Linda Ellis officiating and with Mckinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL directing.
A public viewing was held from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 24th at the Shi’ra Sr. and Chelcie Memorial Chapel located 5304 Bowden Hill Road Campbellton, FL with Mckinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL directing.
Mary Nell Godwin was born on May 2, 1942 in Jackson County to the late Henry and Donna Williams.
She accepted Christ at an early age at St. John AME Church where she was a faithful member until her health began to fail.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ros Godwin; sister, Alberta Williams; brothers, Othal and QL Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son: James E. Godwin of Madrid, AL; sister: Ira Nell Davis of Madrid, AL; brother: Hezakia (Clara) Williams of St. Petersburg, FL; sister-in-law: Cora Jenkins of Columbia, GA; brother-in-law: Jimmy Roy (Mary) Godwin of Slocumb, AL and Eddie Roy (Willie Mae) Godwin of St. Petersburg, FL; goddaughters: Ivory Davis and Porsha Godwin; great nieces: Kelcy Davis and Na Raha Dozier; special friends: Bonnie Williams, Mattie Griggs and LaShonda Davis Bradley and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowful friends.
