Mrs. Martha Washington, age 98, of Jacob City, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2022 in Graceville, Florida.
She was a native of Jackson County and a member of Saint Michael Missionary Baptist Church in Jacob City, Florida. Mrs. Washington was born on September 8, 1923 to Jefferson and Louise B. Bryant Blount in Cottondale, Florida.
She is survived by her daughter, Louise Gray Crawford and husband Dennis of Jacob City,Florida and her son: Charles Mitchell and wife Michelle of Detroit, Michigan; two brothers:James Blount of Jacob City, Florida and Frank Blount of Orlando, Florida; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; eleven great-great grand children; a goddaughter, Kayla Gammons of Poplar Springs, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be 6:00 PM -7:00 PM, Friday, March 11, 2022 in the M. Sue &
Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street in Graceville,Florida.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 11 AM, in the Second WestMissionary Baptist Church, 4110 Herring Avenue, Marianna, Florida.
Mrs. Washington will be laid to rest in the Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church Cemeteryin Jacob City, Florida under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida
