Mrs. Betty Standifer of Panama City, FL passed away at home with loved ones at her bedside. She joined her late husband, Bill Standifer, and her late daughter, Hope Hudgins, in that land that is fairer than day.

Betty was born February 13, 1927, in Ohio and moved with her first husband and 4 children to Tampa in the 1960’s. Her second marriage to Bill Standifer brought 2 daughters into the family and a move to Panama City in the 1970’s. After Bill’s early unexpected death, Betty attended Gulf Coast Junior College where she graduated as a registered nurse. She was then employed at Bay Medical Hospital for 30 years until her retirement. Betty was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church where she participated in many activities as long as her health and circumstances permitted. Betty enjoyed games of all types, teaching her children and friends card games, board games and how to swing a winning ping pong paddle.

Betty is survived by 5 children: Michael Canaday (Jeanette, deceased), Pat Collins (Bill, deceased), Dennis Canaday, Jeff Canaday (Judy), and Donna Puckett (Rick), son-in-law Neil Hudgins; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
