Mr. Oliveral Z. Britt (affectionately known as “O.Z.”) of Smith Station, AL and formerly of Jackson County, FL passed away Wednesday, January 31th at Loving Touch Assisted Living for Veterans in Smiths Station, AL.
Funeral service will be held 1 pm February 10th 2023 at New Bethel C.M.E. Church located 2487 Hwy 2 Campbellton, FL with Reverend’s Oscar Massey, Earnestine Daniels and Adrienne McClendon officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul/New Bethel Cemetery (with military honors) located at 5180 Hwy 273 with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL directing.
Brother Oliveral Z. Britt was born on December 5, 1930 to the late Henry Britt and the late Malissa Pittman Britt in Campbellton, FL. He was the only son and brother to three sisters born to this union.
Brother Britt accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and joined New Bethel CME Church in Campbellton.
He was educated in the public school system of Jackson County Florida. He went on to FAMC (which is now Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University). He later attended Florida Normal College (which is now Florida Memorial College). While attending college he was drafted into the military and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
He is survived by one sister: Clara B. Jackson (Arthur); two nephews: Henry L. Broomfield and Barry D. Jackson; three nieces: Patrice A. Eugene, Sylvia D. Umar and Asmau Umar, and a host of relatives and friends.
