Mr. Melvin DeMarcus Williams, Jr. age 45 of Cottonwood, AL (formerly of Greenwood, FL) passed away, Tuesday, October 27th at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A Graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2020 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Cemetery located at 3996 Wintergreen Road Greenwood, FL, with Reverend’s L. V. Farmer and Thomas Dawsey, Sr. officiating with Mckinnie Funeral Home of Campbellon, FL directing.
DeMarcus was born to the Melvin and Barbara Williams on April 17, 1975 in Donalsonville, GA.
He was converted at an early age and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood, FL where he served on the Usher Board, the Youth Department, the Inspiring Hope Choir and as the Sunday School Assistant Superintendent. He later joined Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Cottonwood, AL where he served as Deacon.
He was joined in holy matrimony to Lacrecia Jones on May 8, 1999.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Roosevelt and Roth Williams, maternal grandmother: Ethel M. Holmes and brother: Byron T. Williams.
He leaves to cherished loving memories with his wife: Lacrecia J. Williams of Cottonwood, AL; daughters: Kaden and Katera Williams of Cottonwood, AL; parents: Melvin and Barbara Williams of Greenwood, FL; maternal grandfather: Horace Holmes of Grandridge, FL; sisters: MarQuita (Terrick) Buckholtz of Jacksonville, FL and Jolinda (Jay) Williams of Orlanda, FL; godchildren: Hayden Johnson and Jaxton Jones of Dothan, AL; god brother: Trejon Hairston of Chattahoochee, FL; uncles: Horace (Ammie) Williams of Marianna, FL, James (Patricia) Williams, Roosevelt (Theresa) Williams and Calvin Williams all of Greenwood, FL, Earl Holmes and Elmore (Wanda) Holmes both of Grandridge, FL, Earvin Holmes of Chattahoochee, FL, Craig (Gayle) Holmes of Greenwood, FL and Anthony Holmes of Williston, ND; aunts: Geneva (Leroy) Williams of Orlando, FL, Rosetta Miller of Greenwood, FL, Flora Bell of Orlando, FL, Ruby Hill of Chattahoochee, FL and Janice (Ervin) Holloman of Nashville, TN; special cousins and friends: Naton Williams, Lee Lewis, Jeffery Pittman and Zeke Williams and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
