Mr. Kary Dickens, Sr., affectionately called Bumpa of Lakeland and formerly of Greenwood, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 20th in Lakeland. He was 84 years old.
He leaves precious memories with one son, Kary Willis Dickens, Jr. and wife Angela of Lakeland, Florida; three daughters, Wendy Montgomery and Linda McKenzie both of Lakeland, Florida, Lynn Canady and husband Torrie of Winter Haven, Florida; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; five brothers, Hayes Dickens of Poinciana, Florida, Adolphus Dickens of Saylorburg, Pennslyvania; Frank Dickens, Richard Dickens and wife Gloria and Gregory Dickens all of Greenwood, Florida; two sisters, Annie White of Lakeland, Florida and Alma Dickens of Newark, New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Bumpa’s life will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 28th at First Baptist Church in Lakeland. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 29th at 2:00 p.m. at Nubbin Ridge Cemetery in Greenwood, Minister Eric White officiating. Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
