Mr. Jesse Thomas, of Chipley, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2020 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family and close friends. He was 77 years old and a native of Selma, Alabama.

Jesse was born on October 13, 1943 to the late Mr. Hubert and Mrs. Ola Mae (Simpson) Thomas in Selma, Alabama. Being raised in a Christian home, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior an grew up in the Methodist Faith. He later became a member of the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church of Chipley, Florida.

He leaves to cherish his memories a beloved companion, friend, and caregiver: Annie M. Peterson and the Peterson-Sharpe Family of Chipley, Florida; step-daughter: Caroline Cooper; step-grandchildren: Jessie Cooper Mortissen and Nelson McClintock, all of California; two brothers: Jimmy Simpson of Detroit, Michigan, and Willie Simpson of Lawrenceville, Georgia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 AM CST, Saturday, December 5, 2020 from the sanctuary of the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with pastor, Rev. Tony Davis, officiating. Graveside Committal Services will be held at a later at Lorenzo Harrison Memorial Gardens in Selma, Alabama. Cooper Funeral Home & Florist of Chipley, Florida, providing the ministry of comfort.

A Public Walk-through viewing will be held from 12-5 PM CST, Friday, December 4, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home & Florist of Chipley, Florida. In consideration to public health and safety, a facial covering/mask must be worn to attend both the Public Viewing /Celebration of Life.
