Mr. James W. Drayton, of Greenwood, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida.
He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood, Florida.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 1:00 P. M. from the sanctuary of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church located at 3996 Wintergreen Road in Greenwood, Florida, with Rev. L.V. Farmer, Rev. Kevin Williams, Rev. Dwight Cockerham and Elder Dr. Rev. Nelson Wilson, officiating.
The body will lie in state from 12:00 Noon until time for the service.
Interment in the church cemetery. Vann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 3:00
P. M. to 6:00 P. M. from the chapel of Vann Funeral Home.
Center for Disease Control (CDC) Guidance will be followed for social distancing and wearing of asks for everyone’s safety during the viewing and the funeral service.
Mr. Drayton leaves to celebrate a life of lasting love and memories, a loving and devoted family: Wife of 51 years: Lillie J. Sims Drayton of Greenwood, Florida; Three Daughters: Gwendolyn (Anthony) Smith of Marianna, Florida; Vanessa Drayton of Ft. Myers, Florida and Kaishauna Garrett Smith of Greenwood, Florida; Three Sons: Donell (Joyce) Barnes of Greenwood, Florida; James W. (Patricia) Drayton Jr, of Marianna, Florida and Daniel (Wendy) Smith of Houston, Texas; Three Brothers: Nathaniel Drayton Jr. of New Jersey; Charles Drayton and Julius Drayton both of Ft. Myers, Florida; Six Brothers-in-law: Edward (Gloria) of Haines City, Florida; Lorenzo Sims and Ervin (Judy) Sims both of Greenwood, Florida; Dennis (Wanda) Welch and Tommy Welch both of Port St. Joe, Florida and Sifi (Lillie) Wekewa of Pensacola, Florida Two Sisters-in-laws: Bessie Sims and Minnie Sims both of Greenwood, Florida; 16 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
