Mr. Charles Alfred Cuenin, III, age 88, of Grand Ridge, Fl, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at his home in Grand Ridge, Fl. Charlie was born on October 18, 1933 in Spring Field Gardens at his parent’s home in Queens, NY to Charles Alfred Cuenin, II, and Bertha Frieda (Birrell) Cuenin. He had lived in Grand Ridge for the last 25 years, he originally came to the area from Long Island, New York and had also lived for 30 years with his family in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Charles, after 38 years as an elevator mechanic, proudly retired as a gold card member with the International Union of Elevator Constructors. He started in 1956 with Local #1 NY. Moved to Plantation FL in 1972, worked, and retired out of IUEC, Local #71, Miami FL. Charlie proudly served in the Army Signal Corps, and was a proud member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. He was of the Catholic faith and active in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Blountstown, Florida. Charlie was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed boating, adored his dogs Autumn, Abby, Shadow, and Coco, and especially loved being the proud father of three beautiful daughters. He is preceded in death by: his parents Charles and Bertha Cuenin, his brother James Russell Cuenin, and his sister Ann Barbara Erskine. He is survived by:

Grandchildren: Kailyn Rivera, Zachary Carroll, Chelsea Carroll, Elise Smith, Charles N. Smith, and Zoe Carroll

Great grandson: Isaac Carroll

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 20200 at 2:00 PM (CT) at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Blountstown, Fl. with Father Tim officiating. The family will accept gifts of plants or flowers but also donations to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, Florida.
