Mr. Buford Shepard, age 76 a life-long resident of Quincy, Florida was called home Sunday, July 4, 2021, to be with his heavenly Father.
Buford was employed and retired from the Gadsden County School Board as their Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor. He spent his retirement enjoying his family and traveling with his wife Jean. There was nothing Buford enjoyed more than a family fellowship fish fry and interesting conversation. Buford also enjoyed fishing and hunting when he was able. He was blessed with a big loving family and shared his love for Jesus with them all. He was also an active member of Rock Bluff Assembly of God Church for many years and loved his church family dearly.
Buford was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather for his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Jean Shepard; three sons, Hank L. Shepard (Sharon), Billy Jack Moat Jr. (Dorothy), and Gary Moat (Gina); four daughters, Katey Hobbs (Randy), Christine McLaughlin, Lynn “Sissy” Mayo (Joey), Lisa Dillashaw (Tim); as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Buford was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. and Mary Ruth Shepard and one sister, Mary Frances Allen.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rock Bluff Assembly of God Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on July 9, 2021 at Rock Bluff Assembly of God Church in Bristol, Florida with Rev. Mitchell Taylor and Rev. Jim Lemieux officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Quincy, Florida.
