Mildred Brannon Lanier age 89 of Cottondale, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at her home. Mildred was born on June 27, 1930 in Kynesville, Fl to the late Jesse Caleb and Maebelle (Holley) Brannon. She has been a lifelong resident of Cottondale and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Mildred was an accomplished seamstress and had worked for Warner’s Clothing Plant for several years, and retired from Russell’s Sewing Factory. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, sewing, and mowing grass. Mildred loved being able to help anyone who was in need, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd (Jimmy) Lanier, fishing buddy Oswald Lanier, brother Willie Brannon, sisters Bertha Robinson, Hazel O’Pry, Hattie Capshaw, Aundris McHargue, and Ophelia Brannon.
Mildred is survived by two daughters Linda Lanier of Cottondale, FL, and Denise L. Carter and husband Chanley of Marianna, FL, sisters Jean Broome of Montgomery, AL, and Agnes Taylor of Cottondale, FL, grandchildren Brandi Charles and husband Stanley of Marianna, FL, Wendy Lowery of Cottondale, FL, Alex Elliott of Marianna, FL, great grandchildren April Byrd and husband Philip, Ethan Lowery, Daniel Miller, Stephanie Darby and husband Jud, Evan Lowery, Aryan Charles, Beclan Charles, and Grace Forrest, great-great grandchildren Tyke Byrd, Taylin Byrd, Jayce Darby, and Colton Darby.
A time of remembrance for Mildred will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2019 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
