Michael Kent Mixson, 82, of Graceville, Florida passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022. He was the son of Virgil Ray and Mildred Weed Mixson.
A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM, on Friday, May 27 at Marvin Chapel Cemetery in Graceville under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.
Michael was born on December 15, 1939 in Graceville, FL. He was a graduate of Graceville High School and Texas Christian University in Fort Worth Texas. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and was classified as a veteran of the Viet Nam war. He spent 30 years civil service career working first with the U.S. Department of Health and the Social Security Administration. Those of us who knew him remember that he loved his old cars and trucks. He owned three antique corvettes; red (1975), white (1965), and blue (1985). He lived through several phases of his life which included golf, country western and horses and then motorcycles.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his youngest sister Vicki Mixson, his older brother Bryon Mixson, and a brother-in-law Jim Busby.
Survivors include his son Rivers Mixson, his granddaughter Rain Mixson, both of Orlando, Florida; his siter Barbara Busby of Atlantic Beach, Florida; his younger brother Virgil Mixson and wife Barbara Jo (Bobbi) Mixson of Graceville; a sister-in-law Louise Mixson of Graceville; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Allene Coggins, a special friend and care giver, for her services and dedication to Michael this last year of his life.
