Marylan Atkins, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Washington County, Florida on October 25, 1932, to the late Charlie Weston Carter and Lillie Meeks Carter. Ms. Marylan was a teacher’s aide at Margaret K. Lewis School in Panama City, Florida for a number of years. She was a longtime member of Overstreet Bible Church and also of East Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

A Graveside Home-going service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2022, at East Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Chaplain Brandon Thorne officiating, James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.

Ms. Marylan was blessed to have such a wonderful group of caregivers and such a caring hospice staff to take care of her.

In lieu of flowers it was her request that donations be made to Covenant Care Hospice 4540 Lafayette Street, Suite G. Marianna, FL 32446

She was preceded in death by her husband Homer D. Atkins and one son Bruce Atkins.

She is survived by three children Kenneth Atkins (Dani), Panama City, FL, Sherron Miller, Wewahitchka, FL, Wonda Builta (Chip), Mobile, AL; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, sister Bonnie Rude (Lee) and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special family members John West and Joyce West, along with many brothers and sisters in Christ.
