Mary Kirkland Mears, 73, died Friday, November 13, 2020 at her residence.
She was born in Donalsonville, Georgia to Perry and Laura “Beatrice” Kirkland and was a member of Cypress Community Church. She loved her family and her Lord and Savior. Mary also enjoyed crocheting and embroidery.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Jerry Levin Mears of Dellwood, Florida; daughter, Karen Adams of Dellwood, Florida; parents; brother, James W. Kirkland of Sneads, Florida; sisters Elizabeth Strange of Grand Ridge, Florida and Betty Roberts of Marianna, Florida.
She is survived by daughter, Melinda Mears (Duckey Wright), of Marianna, Florida; sisters Laura Kirkland of Sneads, Florida, Dorothy Franklin of Grand Ridge, Florida, and Lillie Walters (Gene) of Marianna, Florida; grandsons, Jeremy Maddox (Ashley) of Ashford, Alabama, Justin Maddox (Kali) of Marianna, Florida, Jimmy Maddox Jr. (Stephanie) of Greenwood, Florida, Austin Zullo of Marianna, Florida, Zackary Zullo of Tallahassee, Florida; granddaughters, Jennifer Nobles of Marianna, Florida, Aaliyah Wright, Jaylah Wright and Saniyah Wright; nine great-grandchildren and special friends Gearldine Chambliss and Pearline Pratt.
Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 16, 2020 at Cypress Community Church with Revs. Roland Bamberg and Dewayne Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Monday, November 16, 2020 beginning at 1:00 PM at Cypress Community Church.
