Mary Jane Evans, age 95, of Greenwood, FL, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at her residence while surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born March 31, 1928 to the late Maston and Mary Magdeline Daniels. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and a longtime member of Greenwood Baptist Church. Mary was a devout Christian and loved dedicating her time to the church where she wore many “Hats”. Mary was a big fan of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She also enjoyed doing word search, spending time in her garden and decorating for Christmas. Mary was a hard worker as she was an accomplished seamstress, excellent cook and even did most of her yard work in her later years. She was also employed for many years with the State of Florida working as a manager for Sunland. Mary will be greatly missed by her family, friends and those she touched throughout her time here on earth.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva D. Evans; brother, John Daniels; and sister, Virginia Davis.

Mary leaves behind her children, Ronald Evans of Greenwood, Patsy Evans and husband, Jamie of Marianna, and Bill Evans of Malone; two brothers, Roy Daniels and wife, Sandra of Tallahassee, Franklin C. Daniels and wife, Sharon of Palatka, FL; grandchildren, Heather Lewis and husband, Jeffery, Heath Holland and wife, Jan, Michelle Evans, Jerrett Evans, Ashleigh Evans, Melinda Baxter and husband, Michael, Crystal Mathis and husband, Randall, Gina Hall Blaske and husband, Steven; great grandchildren, Brandon Evans, Ashton Faria and husband, Andy, Alyssa Yowell and husband, Sean, Marissa and McClane Baxter, Christopher, Avery, Lily Chayton, Paisley and Maston Evans, Haley Brooke and Taylor Reese Mathis; great great grandson, Adler Faria; soon to be great great granddaughter, Rylee Grace Blaske; brother in law, Edward Davis and sister in law, Margaret Daniels. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Ed Ham officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10 A.M. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
