Mrs. Mary Ester Wilburn age 43 of Marianna’s McChapel Community passed away Tuesday March 31st at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, FL.
A Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday April 4th at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery located at 5382 Old U S Road Malone, FL with Reverend Freddie Roulhac officiating.
A public viewing will held from 3 to 7 p. m. Friday, April 3rd at the Sh’ra Sr. and Chelcie Memorial Chapel.
Mary Ester McClain Wilburn was born on July 20, 1976 to the late Deacon Willie D. McClain, Sr. and Joyce Marie Waters McClain.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Lakeland, FL. Later, she moved to Graceville, FL and served with several church families including Mt. Zion M. B. Church (Malone, FL), Poplar Springs M. B. Church (Marianna, FL), and St. John M. B. Church (Marianna, FL) were she served faithfully alongside her husband as first Lady and Sunday School Teacher.
She married the love of her life on April 11, 1998, and with him they raised two daughters Tierra Patten and Aliyah Wilburn.
In 2000, she received her Associates of Fine Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and continued her education at the University of West Florida, receiving her Bachelors of Arts in 2011. She later became the founder of “A Chance for Success Youth Center” in Malone, FL.
Mary Ester lived a life full of love and impacted many lives throughout her journey.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Deacon Willie D. McClain, Sr. and Joyce McClain.
She leaves to cherished loving memories, with her husband: Pastor Alonza “AL” Wilburn; two daughters: Tierra Patten (Tyler) and Aliyah Wilburn both of Malone, FL; five brothers: Pedro Martinez (Gloria), Willie McClain, Jr. (Tina), Luis Martinez (Cindy) and Willie McClain (Stacia) all of Graceville, FL, Paulie McClain (Lataya) of Gainesville, FL; three sisters: Evelyn McClain and Elaine McClain (Mancy) both of Youngstown, FL, and Joy Fountain of Graceville, FL; special mother of love: Jimmie Lee Wilburn; sister of love: Janice General; one grandson: Tyson “GiGi’s man” Patten; beloved friends: Latara Bighem, Precious Ingram and Merlin Roulhac, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowful friends.
