Marianna volleyball honors its team with year-end banquet

The Marianna Lady Bulldogs volleyball team celebrated a successful season last week with a year-end banquet held at First United Methodist Church Wesley Center. Coach Bobby Hughes welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming and for their support of the program throughout the year. He praised the girls’ efforts this year and said volleyball at MHS looks promising.
Following the meal, awards were dispersed for both varsity and junior varsity.
For junior varsity, it was Lexie Spooner garnishing the Most Valuable Player award while Gracie Charles took home the Bulldog Award.
Varity awards were highlighted by a shared award. Gabby Bess and Lauren Brock were both recipients of the Most Valuable Player Award.
Offensive Player of the Year was a no brainer for all who watched the Lady Bulldogs throughout the year. Kinsey Smith took home the prestigious award. Defensive Player of the Year award when to Angie Ubias who proved to be the anchor of the defense game after game.
The Bulldog Award went to Kate Myhill who showed time after time she was a true team player. The Most Improved Player Award went to Cyann Clark-Hussey.
Congratulations to the Lady Bulldogs on their 19-6 season from the publisher and staff of the Jackson County Times.
