The Marianna High School Bulldogs junior varsity football team had a dramatic comeback victory last week against Northside Academy from Dothan. The Dogs were down 28-6 at the half and came back to score 38 unanswered points to win the game 44-28.
The Marianna JV football team showed what they were made of last Thursday night when the found themselves down 28-6 at the half and roared back in the second half to take a whopping 44-28 win.
Tucker Brock scored the only touchdown of the first half.
Trevor Medlin had a one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Giovanni Scott had a 40-yard run and an 11-yard run that put the Dogs ahead. Thurston Johnson added a 48-ayard run to add a little insurance before Scott ran off another 31-yard touchdown run.
Following the game, you couldn’t find a happier coach than Drew Mayo. Mayo said, “To come back like we did just shows how hard we work and don’t let up. I’m extremely proud of my guys. Hopefully we’ll finish up with a win against Sneads next week and finish the season 5-2.”
Marianna hosts Sneads Thursday night (tonight) with a 6 p.m. kick off.
