Lois Elizabeth Richardson Pittman, age 88, of Jacob City, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 28, 2022 in Pensacola, Florida.

Lois Elizabeth Richardson Pittman was born on December 29, 1933, in Cottondale, Florida to the late Robert Richardson(father) and Essie B. Russ (mother). She later united in holy matrimony to the late Mathew J. Pittman where they together had a beloved daughter, Glinda Britt Dudley, who also preceded her in death. Lois had three siblings which proceeded her in death: Clora B. Terry, James A. Richardson & Eddie “Bo” Richardson.

During the early years of her childhood, she discovered a love for the Lord and decided to give her life to Christ. Lois became a member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church (St Mary MBC) in Jacob City, FL, and served diligently in many capacities of the church. Lois served on the Usher Board, sang in the choir, and served on the kitchen hospitality committee. She was very profound and passionate about her love for Jesus and did not allow the walls of St. Mary to limit her service. She was always involved with her church, her family, her community, her job, and with any who she could gain the opportunity to share kindness toward and make you laugh. Lois was the seamless glue that would gently hold things together for her family and friends.

Lois was a phenomenal seamstress and spent many of her years of work at Jackson Apparel and West Point Stevens from which she retired. She possessed a plethora of other skills, talents, and jobs in which she mastered. She also had a special gift to make people laugh. Over the years of her career, she had opportunity to make several friends and build many wonderful memories. She will sincerely be missed by all of her friends, family and loved ones!

Lois departed this life on Friday, January 28, 2022, in Pensacola Florida at the West Florida Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memories and legacy to, her devoted & loving son-in-law, Ulysses Dudley. Her three granddaughters; DeCarla Gray (Toddie) of Beaufort, South Carolina; Tracey Gilbert (Dexter) of Marianna, Florida and Nichole Thompson (Tarront) of Atlanta, Georgia. Two God-grandsons, LaDray Gilbert, Dothan, Alabama & Brandon Gibson of Chipley, FL. Four great-grandchildren, DeVontae Wilson, Toddie Gray Jr., Amara Thompson and Tarront Thompson Jr. Two great-great-grandchildren, DeAngelo & Phoenix Wilson. Two Step- siblings; Annie M. Larry & Curtis Russ. Three brothers-in-law; the late Arthur (Loraine), Richard (Mildred), & Joe (Evelyn) Pittman. One sister-in-law; Leana Malone. As she knew them: Simon Britt (special friend); Obadiah White (like a son); Dorothy Gray (like a daughter). Lois has a host of nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; many friends and loved ones who surrounded her with love especially at the end of her journey.

Social distancing and facial covering is required for all services.

A walk-through only visitation will be from 4-6 PM, Friday, February 4, 2022 in the M. Sue & Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street, Graceville, Florida.

A celebration of life will begin at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Second West Baptist Association Church, 4110 Herring Avenue in Marianna, Florida.

She will be laid to rest in the Saint Mary Cemetery in Jacob City, Florida under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.
