Linda Carpenter Jackson, a beloved mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, passed away peacefully in Tallahassee, Florida on July 11, 2023. Born on March 25, 1947, in Pensacola, Florida, to the late Guy and Ruth Neal Carpenter, Linda was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her.

Linda was a proud graduate of Chattahoochee High School in 1965. She began her career with the State of Florida in the Department of Agriculture and dedicated 36 years of service before retiring as a Senior Personnel Manager. Her work ethic and dedication were admired by her colleagues and will be remembered fondly.

Linda was a woman of many passions. She loved to travel and explore new places, always seeking out the next adventure. Her love for her family was evident in the time and care she devoted to them. She enjoyed shopping and dining out with her close friends, Connie Tully and Janice Harrell. Linda was also an avid NASCAR and FSU football fan, her enthusiasm for the sports was infectious.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Angela Jackson of Tallahassee; brother, Ervin Carpenter (Mary) of Tallahassee; two sisters, Deborah Stone (Terry) of Blountstown and Sue Carpenter of Tallahassee. She was also a cherished grandmother to Alex Mack and John Santana. Linda also leaves behind two close friends, Connie Tully and Janice Harrell, who will miss her deeply. Her family will remember her as a friendly, passionate, and adventurous woman who lived her life to the fullest.

Linda Carpenter Jackson’s life was a testament to her love for her family, her dedication to her work, and her passion for life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in memory of Ms. Linda to the Big Bend Homeless Coalition at 2729 West Pensacola Street, Tallahassee, FL 32304.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM Eastern Time in the Chapel of McAlpin Funeral Home with Rev. Candace McKibben officiating. Interment will follow at Carpenter Cemetery in Grand Ridge, FL.
