Lillian Harris was born on February 5, 1936 in Riverview, Florida, where she resided until moving to Jackson County, Florida in 1962. She quietly and peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 5, 2020.

She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, accompanied by her cheerful, caring, and friendly disposition. She especially loved children and they loved her in return, so she was well-suited for driving a school bus for the Jackson County School Board for some 35 years. Lillian married the love of her life, Doyle Harris, on November 14, 1954. Together they raised three children whom she leaves to cherish her memory: Dale Harris (Anna), Teresa Dykes (John), and Duane Harris. Not to be overlooked are her “adopted” children: Charlene Harris, Lloyd and Vanessa Johnson. Her very special sister-in-law, Nellie Jones. She also leaves behind six very special (and spoiled) grandchildren; who have very fond memories of their “Granny”: Jason Harris (Angela), Kevin Harris, Jessica Mahaffey (Casey), Kelly Larochelle (Ben), Heather Wright (Jeremy), Sam Ceballos (Jonathan). Also, nine precious great grandchildren; KaytLynn, Alexis, Spencer, Cole, Dylon, MaKenna, Lili, Landon, and Emily. She is also survived a host of nieces, nephews, and special friend Carolyn Whitford.

Lillian was preceded in death by her father and mother; Roy and Cassie Jones, and her brother Judson Jones.

She possessed many talents and lived life the fullest. She played the piano, and saxophone. Enjoyed carpentry, cosmetology, floristry, sewing, crocheting, fishing, and cooking. But the most important event in her life was July 5, 1957 when she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She faithfully lived up to that dedication to the very end.

A very special “Thanks” goes to Kayla, Tresa, and Vicky with Covenant Care who provided much-need support, comfort, and compassionate care throughout her last days.

Due to the current pandemic, a memorial service will be held via Zoom on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM CST/ 3:00 PM EST. Meeting ID:859 6098 2048; Password: Harris.
