Mr. Leman Peterman of Marianna and formerly of Alabama, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 2nd at home.  He was 80 years old.  

He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Bethel Star Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and sang in the choir.  He also sang with the Fisher of Men’s Gospel Choir and other various groups in the area. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years.  After his health failed, he retired but continued to tinker around with small jobs.  

He leaves precious memories with his loving wife, Elouise Long Peterman of Marianna, Florida; one son, Randy Peterman of Dothan, Alabama; three daughters, Anette Russell and husband Elder Kenneth) of Dothan, Alabama, Lisa Turner of Denver, Colorado and Daffany Floyd of Atlanta, Georgia; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two brothers, William Frank Peterman and wife Ava of Irvington, New Jersey and Robert Peterman of Newark, New Jersey; one sister, Mamie Linton Williams of Westfield, New Jersey; one sister-in-law, Hazel Long of Marianna, Florida; one uncle-in-law, Elder Marcus Johnson and wife Fannie of Irvington, New Jersey; two aunts-in-law, Riller Jackson of Bartow, Florida and Julia Wynn of Marianna, Florida; two special nephews, Kevin Peterman and Wyan Marsh; three special friends, Rosa Williams, David Blackshear and Bobby Blackshear; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  

A public viewing will be held Friday, July 10th from 3-5pm at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel.

 A homegoing celebration will be held graveside Saturday, July 11th at 11 am at Orange Hill Cemetery with Rev. George Bowers, Elder Virgil Johnson, Sr., Elder Kenneth Russell and Elder Marcus Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
