Comprehensive Plan Text Amendment – A proposed adoption of a text change to Jackson County Comprehensive Plan, Chapter 2, Policy 2.4. The proposed text amendment would allow landscaping for commercial developments to be highly recommended instead of required.

The District hereby gives notice of its intent to issue a Formal Determination of the Landward Extent of Wetlands and Other Surface Waters (File No. FWD-063-9679-2) to City of Marianna, c/o Jim Dean, for the property located in Sections 17, 18 & 19, Township 4 North, Range 10 West, Jackson County. The District’s file on this matter is available for public inspection during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except legal holidays, at the District Bureau of Environmental Resource Permitting, at 152 Water Management Drive, Havana, FL 32333. CR 286 (Blueberry Drive) HMGP Drainage Project

The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners is requesting Letters of Interest and Statements of Qualifications from registered, qualified consultant firms in the State of Florida with experience in Construction and Engineering Inspection Services on Paved Roads for projects involving Federal Emergency Managements and State of Florida reporting requirements, and inspection on projects involving reconstructing the roads in areas that have previously flooded.

This project consists of the reconstruction of approximately 2,000 linear feet of CR 286 (Blueberry Drive) about 1.25 miles North of Interstate 10 in Sneads, Florida.  The purpose of this project is to elevate this portion of CR 286 above the 100-year flood elevation in the area where the roadway has previously overtopped during major storm events. Clearing and Grubbing, asphalt pavement removal, roadway embankment fill, roadway base and hot asphalt pavement construction will be included in this project.  Also included are roadway guardrail installation, temporary traffic control, concrete drainage structure modifications, grading, grassing, roadway signing and asphalt pavement striping.

The consultant will provide inspectors to monitor the work to ensure that the performed according to the plans and specifications and to FDOT Standards and acceptable condition.  The inspectors will submit daily reports to the County each day, and a weekly summary of work completed, including pictures of the work as it is performed.  The Consultant firm will be held responsible for all aspects of the work. The consultant will be selected by Selection Committee ranking in which consideration will be based on qualifications and experience for the type of work outlined in the scope and will strictly follow the Consultants Competitive Negotiations Act and State of Florida rules and regulations.
