Changes to the 2021-22 Code of Student Conduct and Discipline include:
– ‘Guidance counselor’ has been replaced with ‘school counselor’
– Electronic acknowledgment has been added as a way the student and/or parent can ‘sign’ for receipt of the Code of Student Conduct
– Florida Statute numbers have been verified and corrected
– Florida Statute language has been updated
– References throughout the document to specific pages or sections have been corrected or deleted for accuracy
– Description of Dating Violence and Abuse has been updated and expanded in the section formally called J. Required Instruction for Grades 7 through 12
– Addition under student responsibilities: “and any corresponding referral to mental health services by the school district” in reference to initial registration
– District Wide Appropriate Dress has been replaced with the updated, board approved policy:
• Addition of black pants, jeans, capris, knee length shorts or skirts in dress or casual style
