SECOND PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Town of Greenwood is applying to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) for a grant under the Neighborhood Revitalization category in the amount of $600,000.00 under the FFY 2015 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.  For each activity that is proposed, at least 70% of the funds must benefit low and moderate income persons.  The activities, dollar amounts and estimated percentage benefit to low and moderate income persons for which the Town of Greenwood is applying are:

Service Area #1: Town of Greenwood Water Service Laterals Replacement Service Area:

03J Water Line Replacement Activity -The potable water distribution system laterals extend from the water main through the existing water meters located at each individual property along the road right of way in the Town of Greenwood Water Service Lateral Replacement Service Area in the Town of Greenwood.  The existing water laterals are old and brittle and need to be repaired on a regular basis.  The activity proposed in this service area involves the replacement of all of the existing potable water distribution system service laterals in the service area with new three-quarter inch (3/4”) PVC water laterals including new radio read water meters, meter boxes, curb stops and backflow preventers.  The application also includes funding for an automatic meter reader data collector, software and hardware required to read the water meters and develop the water bills for disbursement.   

Approximately two hundred fifty (250) water service laterals will be replaced. The replacement of the water service laterals will include all components, required for a complete installation.  The total linear feet of service laterals being replaced is 6,565 LF.

The streets in which the water laterals will be replaced in Service Area #1 are as follows:

State Road 71 between a point fifteen hundred feet south of Smith Street on the south to Braves Boulevard on the north;
Basswood Road between Basswood Road’s intersection with State Road 71 on the south and proceeding northeast along Basswood Road approximately three thousand (3,000”) linear feet;  
County Road 162 between State Road 71 on the east and Tulsa Lane on the west;
Smith Street between State Road 71 on the east and Marcus Drive on the west;
Barkley Street between Peanut Street on the north and the end of Barkley Street on the south;
Vereen Street between Smith Street on the north and the end of Vereen Street on the south;
Applewhite Street between County Road 162 on the north and Smith Street on the south;
Marcus Drive between the northwest end of Marcus Drive and the Southwest end of Marcus Drive;
Russell Street between Marcus Drive on the east and the western end of Russell Street on the west;
Allen Street between County Road 162 on the south and the end of Allen Street on the north;
James Street between Allen Street on the east and Wynn Street on the west;

The Town of Greenwood plans to minimize displacement of persons as a result of planned CDBG funded activities; if any persons are displaced as a result of these planned activities, the Town of Greenwood will assist with relocation payments based on uniform act requirements.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Malone Canvassing Board will convene at Malone Town Hall, 5182 9th Avenue, Malone, Florida, at 7:01 P.M. or thereafter on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 to canvass absentee ballots.  Immediately after the polls have closed for voting, the absentee ballots will be processed through the tabulating equipment.
Immediately following the canvass of the absentee ballots, the canvassing board will begin the canvassing of provisional ballots.  The canvassing board may reconvene on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 5:30 P.M. to canvass any remaining provisional ballots.
