CONCURRENT NOTICE
NOTICE OF FINDING OF NO SIGNFICANT IMPACT AND
NOTICE OF INTENT TO REQUEST RELEASE OF FUNDS
August 25, 2022
Town of Malone
5182 9th Ave
Malone, FL 32445
850-569-2308
These notices shall satisfy two separate but related procedural requirements for activities to be undertaken by the TOWN OF MALONE.
REQUEST FOR RELEASE
OF FUNDS
On or about September 20, 2022, the TOWN OF MALONE will submit a request to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) for the release of Community Development Block Grant funds under Title I of the Housing and Community Development (HCD) Act of 1974, as amended, to undertake a project to restore the four commercial business structures in the downtown commercial district of Malone. This proposed project directly addresses the post Hurricane Michael commercial decay by saving existing businesses and restoring an empty commercial space to bring back immediate employment opportunities. The revitalization of the downtown area is a critical priority to ensure the town can continue its recovery from the devastation left from Hurricane Michael. Four businesses will be receiving direct assistance from the project, but the indirect benefits to the entire town’s residents and businesses will be immeasurable.
