Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or a cashier’s check, made payable to the Chipola College, Marianna, Florida in the sum of 5% of the base bid as a guarantee and with an agreement that the bidder will not revoke or cancel his bid or withdraw from the competition for a period of thirty (30) days after the opening of bids, and that in the event the contract is awarded to the bidder, he will within ten (10) consecutive days after it is submitted, enter into written contract with the Chipola College, Marianna, Florida in accordance with the accepted bid. The cost of the bond will be included as part of the bidder’s base-bid proposal.

The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities in any bid, and to reject any or all bids, or to accept any bid and any combination of alternates or separate bid prices that, in their judgement, will be to the best interest of Chipola College, Marianna, Florida.

Sweet Pond Road Paving Project – Phase 1 Bid # 2021-ENG-008

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed Bids for Sweet Pond Road Paving Project – Phase 1 in political District 5 in Jackson County, FL will be received by Jackson County Board of County Commissioners at the office of the Jackson County Purchasing Office located at 2864 Madison Street, Marianna, FL, until 2:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at which time the Bids received will be “publicly” opened and read.

The section of roadway(Sweet Pond Rd.) is 10600 LF and 22 FT wide. The project consists of placing Hot Mix Asphalt onto base prepared by the County and installation of permanent painted pavement markings beginning at SR 69 and ending at Green Rd.

A Bid Bond payable to Jackson County for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid shall be filed with the proposal. The Bid Bond to be prepared on the forms specified and signed by a Bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Florida.

All Bidders must be pre-approved by FDOT in Hot Plant-Mixed Bituminous Courses and all contractors and their subcontractors shall have adequate references showing performance of this type of work. Bidders may be required to submit detailed information regarding the staff that they propose for this project. The Contractor shall be capable of meeting all the requirements of the specifications at the time of the bid.

Bidders shall be contractors who are normally engaged in construction and shall be licensed as may be requiredunder existing Federal, State, and County laws. Only bids from qualified Contractors will be considered.

No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after scheduled time for the receipt of bids. The Owner reserves the right to waive any or all irregularities and informalities and to reject any or all bids.
