The project includes:
• Complete removal of all structures unless otherwise noted
• Off-site disposal of all debris, including but not limited to demolition, junk, inoperable equipment, sheds, barns, outbuildings, and disturbed vegetative debris
• Complete cleanup of the site
• Complete cleanup of overgrown vegetation or fallen trees
• Leveling, grading and seeding/sodding of disturbed areas
All proposals must contain the contractor’s assurance to the Town that all structures will be demolished, cleaned up and the lot will be seeded/sodded within the first six days after the award of the contract. All permits are the responsibility of the contractor. The successful contractor shall make any and all necessary arrangements for the disconnection of both private and public utility services and obtain necessary utility line locates. In the event the successful contractor fails compliance, the bid will revert to the next lowest or best bidder.
Payment will be made, but only after passing a complete inspection at the site. Anyone wishing to bid can inspect the property prior to bidding. The property will be marked with stakes. Bids will be opened and recorded at Greenwood Town Hall at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2023.

Jackson County has been awarded Federal Funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (DHS/FEMA)/. It has been entrusted through the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (PL 100-77) “to supplement and expand on-going efforts to provide shelter, food and supportive services” by local social service organizations for people across our Nation who are hungry, homeless and in economic crisis.
Jackson County has been chosen to receive $11,577 under Phase 40 of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program.
A National Board, chaired by FEMA with representatives from American Red Cross; Catholic Charities, USA; National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA; the Jewish Federations of North America, The Salvation Army; and United Way Worldwide governs the EFSP.
Jurisdictions that receive funds were chosen based on: most current 12-month National unemployment rates; total number of unemployed within a civil jurisdiction; total number of individuals below the poverty level within a civil jurisdiction and the total population of the civil jurisdiction.
A Local Board made up of the following agencies, (the United Way, Council on Aging, Children and Families, Baptist Association, Catholic Charities, Emergency Management, Former Recipient of EFSP funds, Salvation Army, Red Cross, Jewish Federation, Chipola Christian Ministry Center, Jackson County Habitat for Humanity and Jackson County Inland Recovery Group) will determine how the funds awarded to Jackson County are to be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies in the area. The Local Board is responsible for recommending agencies to receive these funds and any additional funds made available under this phase of the program.
Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must: 1) be private voluntary non-profits or units of government, 2) be eligible to receive Federal funds, 3) have an accounting system in the organizations name, 4) practice nondiscrimination, 5) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs and 6) if they are a private voluntary organization they must have a voluntary board. Qualifying agencies are urged to apply.

The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners is requesting proposals from qualified vendors to oversee the day-to-day operations of Jackson Blue Springs located at 5461 Blue Springs Road, Marianna, FL 32446. Sealed bids, submitted in triplicate, will be received by the Board of County Commissioners (Owner), of Jackson County, Florida until 2:00 p.m. CST on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the office of Jackson County Administration, located at 2864 Madison Street, Marianna, Florida 32448, for asphalt road repairs located in Commission District 2.
Description of Work: The scope of work includes milling, resurfacing, and restriping of the roads identified below. Roads should be milled at a depth of one and half inches and replaced with one and a half inches of 12.5 polymer asphalt and then restriped. Roads included in this project are:
Park Rd (1,000LF), Corbin Rd (1,275LF), Kynesville Rd (4,078LF), and HWY 162 (4,716LF)
