Born April 4, 1946, in Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Gilley was the beloved daughter of the late James O. and Mary Alice Adams and sister to Kenneth (Cora) Adams and Lonnice (John) O’Mara. She retired from the State of Florida and served many years as a bus monitor for the Jackson County School system. LaDonna loved God, family, and adored her sweet dog Tucker with every ounce of her being, to be loved by her was a true blessing. She was a great cook who loved preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. Family BBQs and church potluck were some of her favorite times, she just loved to be in community with others and never met a stranger. She loved good old gospel music and loved to sing “The Circle Won’t be Broken”. Her laugh was absolutely contagious and she could strike up a conversation with anyone she came across. She never hesitated to stop and pray with anyone that was sick or struggling, because she knew the power of prayer. LaDonna often talked about what a joyous day it would be when she could once again wrap her arms around her momma in heaven and we are so comforted by the fact that there was a grand reunion this past Friday between her and loved ones that were waiting to greet her on the other side.
Mrs. Gilley is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 46 years Jack Gilley and she was the proud mother to Kelley (Jerry) Mink, Karen (Ken) Clausen, Jennifer (Richard) Powell, Jack (Mary Ann) Gilley. She had 13 amazing grandchildren and was blessed with 8 great-grandbabies and numerous nieces, nephews, brother and sister inlaws, aunts, and uncles. She loved and was loved by so many.
