Kenneth W. “Bossy” Mayo, age 64 of Cottondale, Florida passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at his residence.
Kenneth was born on June 19, 1956 in Jackson County, Florida to Loyd Wilford Mayo. A lifelong resident of the panhandle, Kenneth proudly served his country in the US Army and he worked as a bus driver for the Washington County School Board for 25 years. He was passionate about driving the bus and competed in several bus rodeos through the years; securing the title of “State Champion” 3 times and “Southeast Region Champion.” In his spare time, Kenneth also loved to fish and most importantly, spend time with his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his father: Loyd Mayo; wife: Jackie Mayo.
He is survived by his mother: Joyce Mayo of Vernon, FL; sons: Greg Mayo (Holly) of Cottondale, FL, Glen Mayo of Chipley, FL; brothers: Larry Mayo (Faye) of Orlando, FL, Raymond Mayo of Yellville, AR; sisters: Wanda Doolan (William) of Carrabelle, FL, Gail Jeter of Round Lake, FL, grandchildren: Julie Mayo, Emily Mayo, Ana Phipps.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Rock Hill Church cemetery in Cottondale, Florida with Bro. Cloys Joiner officiating. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6PM-8PM on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Obert Funeral Home in Chipley, Florida.
