Kenneth Stokes Crumpler, 81, of Marianna, FL passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, April 5th surrounded by family after a brief illness. Kenneth was born in Ozark, AL and the Crumpler family moved to Marianna when he was a young boy. Kenneth graduated from Marianna High School and then attended Florida State University. Kenneth married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Richbourg Crumpler in 1961 and they would have celebrated 62 years together in August.
Kenneth was an avid bass fisherman and enjoyed being on the lake as often as he could. He also enjoyed bird hunting over the years and working with his hunting dogs.
Kenneth retired after 33 years of service for the State of Florida DOC and held a high regard for the law. Kenneth was a member of the Cypress Baptist Church and enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley Gospel music.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph D. Crumpler and Jewell Stokes Crumpler, sister Nadine Crumpler Tibitts and sister Gayle Crumpler Krieger. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn and their children Steve Crumpler (Tara) of Marianna, FL and Wendy Crumpler Causey (Christian) of Jefferson, GA, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brother Douglas Crumpler (Judy) of Crestview, FL, sister Kaye Crumpler Coats of Valdosta, GA and many nieces and nephews.
In honor of his final wishes Mr. Crumpler will be cremated and there will not be a formal service.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Steven Spence, his staff and the compassionate staff in the SCU at Jackson Hospital.
