Ms. Karen Denise Baker affectionately known as “Pete”, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, but formerly of Blountstown, Florida, transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 in the Fayetteville Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Josie Bell Reeves and the late Isreal Shorty Baker.
Ms. Baker accepted Christ as her personal savior and became a member of the Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Blountstown, Florida. Upon relocating to North Carolina, she joined the Born Again AOWCOG, Incorporated in Spring Lake, North Carolina. She was honorably discharged from the United States Army. To know her was to truly love her.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 1:00 PM CST in the Hugh Creek Cemetery located in Blountstown, Florida with Brother Lyndom B. Baker, Sr. and Bishop Adrian D. Abner officiating. Vann Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Pete leaves to cherish a lifetime of love and memories, a devoted family:

Stepmother: Margaret Atkins-Baker of Blountstown, Florida
Step Sister and Step Brother: Charlene Clark and Reginald Cobb both of Blountstown, Florida
A very special nephew and niece which she raised and loved dearly: Jamarcus Williams of Blountstown, Florida; and Jasmine Thomas of Fayetteville, North Carolina
Two Uncles: Willie Albert Brown, Jr. (Nancy) of Clarksville, Tennessee; and Myles Daniel Brown, Sr. of Blountstown, Florida
One loved as a mother: Beatrice Moore of Blountstown, Florida
And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many loving friends.
