Joseph Thomas Zeigler, Jr., age 74, passed away on October 14, 2023. He was born on December 27, 1948 in Dennison, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Thelma Rose Zeigler and his wife, Kathy McGee Zeigler. He is survived by his children, Jeff Zeigler (Jeannine), Jennifer Nelson (Drew), Carri Sussman (Todd), Greg Powell (Jamie) and Angela Rogers (Carlos); brothers Von Zeigler (Chris) and Vince Zeigler (Jennifer); 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was a proud graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Class of 1966. Joe had many jobs: produce manager for Hart’s in Cleveland, OH; Frito-Lay route driver in the Canton, OH area; owned his own business, Buckeye Power Sweeping in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and retired from Tatum’s Hardware Store in Alford, FL.
Joe’s interests included sarcasm – spoken fluently, hunting, fishing, coaching his kids sports, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Oakland Raiders. In later years, he enjoyed camping and traveling around the country to visit family in his RV with his wife, Kathy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Affinity Care of OH (Hospice) or the Alzheimer Association in Joe’s honor. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
Cremation will be done by Trinity Cremation.
