Joseph Eugene Adams, 72, of Graceville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at his home. Eugene was born on September 7, 1950 to the late Hugh and Lee Adams in Dothan, Al. Eugene loved serving his community and his church. He was the basketball coach at Seminole County High School in Donalsonville for 5 years, he worked 27 years at Sony, and was the City Manager of Graceville for 20 years. Eugene loved his church and was very active, serving as the finance chairman for many years, President for 10 years, and 20 years as the United Methodist Men’s cook. Eugene also enjoyed fishing, cooking, and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Donnie Adams. Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Elaine Peel Adams of Graceville, two daughters; Mary Grace Jowers and husband Marshall of Graceville, Mandy Adams-Rolling and husband Greg of Freeport, FL, sister-in-law Addie Adams of Auburn, AL, three grandchildren; Chipper Holland, Merrick Johnson, and Blaine Jowers.
The family will receive friends for Eugene at 10:00 AM and funeral service will be held 11:00AM, Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church of Graceville, with Rev. Dean Moore officiating and Williams Funeral Home directing.
Serving as his pallbearers will he Chipper Holland, Merrick Johnson, Blaine Jowers, Chance Jowers, Bryce Jowers, James Wright, Marshall Jowers, and Greg Rolling.
