Joseph Allen Mejia, 23, of Sneads, FL was born on June 23, 1996 in Naples, Florida and passed away on January 8, 2020 in Tallahassee, Florida. He was a young, kindhearted man who loved spending time with family and friends, playing video games, going to church and playing guitar. He attended church at Sneads Assembly of God, during his high school years, and played guitar with one of the worship groups there. Joseph was known to be a hardworking, intelligent man who enjoyed his career as a welder. He always had a smile on his face and joke on his lips. Joseph will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Survivors include his daughter, Kennedy Barbee of Grand Ridge, FL; his parents Mauricio and Laticia Mejia of Sneads, FL; one sister, Kylie Mejia of Sneads, FL; one brother, Tony Mejia of Sneads, FL; two aunts, Ryan Smith and Sandy Cloud, both of Sneads, FL; one uncle, Josh Montroy of Sneads, FL; many cousins and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Paula Vidal and a brother, Daniel Mejia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 beginning at 10:00 AM Central Time at McAlpin Funeral Home in Sneads, FL with Rev. Juno Douglas and Rev. Johnny Fontenot officiating. Visitation for friends and family will be one hour prior to service beginning at 9:00 AM Central Time. Interment will follow at Pope Cemetery in Sneads, FL
